Here are some exciting events happening over the next week:

End of Summer Switch Gaming Night
For Grades 9–12
Thursday, July 24

6:30–8:00 p.m.

Denmark Library

Summer is nearing its end, which means it’s time for some friendly challenges and competition! This game night is a perfect opportunity for hanging out, meeting new people, and earning some bragging rights. We will be playing Mario Kart 8 on the Nintendo Switch via tournament style competition. The library will provide the gaming console. Event passes will be handed out 30 minutes prior to the program.

Teen Glow Paint Party
For Grades 6–12
Thursday, July 24

6:30–7:30 p.m.

Sharon Forks Library

Celebrate the end of summer with a glow-in-the-dark party with glow painting, glow sticks, and luminescent fun! This program is for teens in grades 6–12 only.

Amazing Architecture
For Grades 3–5
Thursday, July 24

3:00–4:00 p.m.

Cumming Library

Come and learn about architectural concepts at the library! You’ll rotate through different activity stations where you can draw a building to scale, create a model building, make a clay decorative building ornament, and more.

Teen Writers’ Club Lock-In

Friday, July 25

6:00–9:00 p.m.

Cumming Library

Join us after the library closes for a special Teen Writers’ Club Lock-in. We’ll have special activities for teens who love to write! Teens will engage in discussion, share tips and techniques, play games, and have the opportunity to share their own writing. No registration required. An event for rising grades 6–12.

Family Flicks: Dog Man

Monday, July 28

2:00–4:00 p.m.

Post Road Library

Based on the popular book by Dav Pilkey, Dog Man has the head of a dog, the body of a man, and a talent for sniffing out trouble. Dog Man is rated PG. Event passes will be handed out 30 minutes prior to the program.

Adventures in Oz Escape Rooms!

Monday, July 28–Sunday, August 3

Hampton Park Library

Do you like solving riddles and puzzles? Enter our Oz inspired Escape Room and solve a colorful mystery based on the L. Frank Baum classic, The Wizard of Oz.

There will be 19 sessions of the escape room over the course of the week, so please view the full schedule below. Registration will be taken on the day of the program. Please call ahead on the day of the program to reserve your spot. Space is limited.

Unearthing the Art of Egyptian Tombs
with Dr. Tasha Dobbin-Bennett

Dig into the art and science of Ancient Egyptian tombs! Learn about the functions of a tomb, how it was decorated, and Egyptian mortuary traditions with Dr. Tasha Dobbin-Bennett of Oxford College of Emory.

Paper Quilling for Beginners

Tuesday, July 29

6:30–8:00 p.m.

Sharon Forks Library

Join us to learn basic paper quilling techniques and create a small work of art. Quilling turns thin paper strips into coils, teardrops, and other shapes which are arranged to form a picture. Tools and paper are provided. Event passes will be handed out 30 minutes prior to the program.

Grown-Up Game Night: Trivia
